Insights into non-writing, non-reading events that still have something to say for the writer paying attention.  Events as pedestrian as riding the bus or as unique as a funeral all have lessons for the writer who approaches them with an open heart and mind. 
And yes, you are TOTALLY supposed to tilt your head dramatically--preferably into a crosswind--when you say "as a writer."
