Aug/Sept Report

Welcome back everyone!  We're back from our totally-not-planned hiatus due to our totally unexpected (second) cyber attack that hacked our system and sent out some bad advice disguised as good advice last Monday.  But we're back now, it's September, and that means it's time for all the pulse pounding, mind numbing action of the all the monthly transition stuff.

And past the towering peak of Creepy Guy souls
is the Canyon of Real World Despair...

Of course the big news is that page views are way, way, way, way (way) down.  Nothing short of going back in time to fight Nazis is going to top "Creepy Guy" in terms of viral content, so I'm pretty much just happy that it happened and I've picked up several new regular readers.  My hits in July were over a quarter of a million, and even though this August's numbers of 50k is much more than the pre-creepy guy best of 22k by over double, it kind of makes my analytics chart look like a good mountain to put a mad scientists castle on.  Yeah, it's probably going to be a long, long time before I have an article top that one.

And yet still no groupies.  What the hell is up with this job?

Just a short one today since the SciGuy is still bringing down whole chunks of the computer system for upgrades and we're working on auxiliary power, bailing wire, and spit right now.  In September I'm hoping to get you the articles I was promising you for August right before I got sick (and sidetracked by all the "Creepy Guy" feedback.  Thing like a new Glossary entry, a new craft article, and finally some new work from those slacker guest bloggers who've been resting on their laurels for most of this year.

I also had a really neat idea for a story while I was at Burning Man we were down for our emergency security upgrades.  I don't know that it will appear on the site any time VERY soon, since it seems to be congealing in my head as a somewhat longer work, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
