Welcome

My drug of choice is writing––writing, art, reading, inspiration, books, creativity, process, craft, blogging, grammar, linguistics, and did I mention writing?

Potpourri (Ray Bradbury Themed)

State of the Blog: A genuinely bad week decided to rear its ugly head.  The "lateness" of this entry has to do with it as well, though at this point, it's more peripherally.  (It's your typical cliche: issue leads to being up all night, leads to bad sleep, leads to sleeping the day away while you try to hang out at Uberdude's birthday...type pinion

It is almost if The Blog wished to hop up and point out all the reasons that one might wish to keep a few extra blog entries in the hopper.  Unfortunately it's just the sort of thing that I can't really get into in a medium I'm sort of casually hoping "everyone" will read.

Suffice to say that it's a reminder to me of all the things I thought to myself that I'd very much like to get working by the end of summer, if not sooner.

Cath says I wax too introspective about this stuff, so I'll just leave it at that today.  I'm still working on both trying to get fiction here and on trying to get a week or three out ahead of myself in W.A.W. entries.  That is basically my current major goal.

Potpourri:

Ray Douglas Bradbury (August 22, 1920 – June 5, 2012)

This is a great bit of Bradbury talking about how unsciency his sci-fi could be.  He reads a poem and my heart aches.

A few months ago, one of my Potpourri entries had an old interview with Bradbury on writing persistently.  I don't think a Bradbury homage would be complete without that idea.

And here's something else of his about writing and about love.

Lastly if you have a half an hour, I recommend this.  It's quite spectacular.
